FORT WORTH, Texas — American Airlines announced to launch its new flagship lounge(6th of it's kind) at Charlotte Douglas International airport to enhance its premium customer experience and invest in the Charlotte community. After the recent launch of its "highly anticipated" Flagship lounge in Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) and its first foray in grab-and-go lounge model, this lounge marks the continued efforts of American to provide its passengers with an all-round quality flying experience.

Why it matters?

CLT is American’s second-largest hub, connecting millions of passengers to more than 170 destinations in 27 countries. American employs 15,500 team members at CLT and PSA Airlines(regional airline wholly owned by the American Airlines Group), which is preparing to relocate its headquarters to Charlotte in 2026.

Ralph Lopez, American's Senior Vice President of CLT operations, said:

“Charlotte is incredibly important to American’s network. We serve millions of customers as they travel through CLT, and we’re excited to continue to elevate their experience when traveling with us.”

The American currently has three lounge spaces in CLT, with Admirals Club lounges in Concourses B and C/D as well as the new grab-and-go Provisions by Admirals Club lounge in Concourse A. This new investment will significantly increase the lounge space for American customers traveling through CLT and marks the long-awaited arrival of the Flagship lounge experience at CLT. The airline is yet to share the construction details and timing.

What's in it?

Passengers will greeted with a champagne upon arrival along with locally inspired menus curated by award-winning chefs. The lounge has an inviting atmosphere with premium amenities as well as the design elements that are thoughtfully curated to balance style, comfort and function.

The whole space is divided into neighborhoods tailored to traveler needs:

  • Lounge: Relax and enjoy the comfortable seating
  • Bar and Dining: Enjoy a drink or savor delicious cuisine with your loved ones.
  • Villas: Embrace privacy and a mental reset in the spa-style shower suites, workstations and/or kid-friendly family room
